There is no reason a bike should ever end up in a land fill.

LAMBO's Vision

The Lakeland Area Mountain Biking Organization (LAMBO) exists to promote mountain biking for all skill levels and related silent sports activities through building and maintaining sustainably-built mountain biking trails in Vilas and Oneida Counties of Northern Wisconsin. Furthermore LAMBO shall engage in educational and fun activities to promote and educate the public about the importance of safe and fun silent sports activities in promoting healthy lifestyles

Education: We believe that educated land managers are more likely to support mountain bike access, and educated mountain bikers are more likely to be viewed as deserving access. Our riding experience depends on environmentally responsible land stewardship and respectful interaction with wildlife and other user groups. We will promote environmentally sensitive practices in riding, trail building, and trail maintenance. We will present viable land management options, which preserve mountain bike access.

Organization: By organizing the mountain biking community, LAMBO will be able to effectively plan, coordinate and advocate for the expansion of mountain biking access and trail development opportunities.

Action: Through partnerships with local, state, and federal government, private interests, and other organizations, LAMBO will build and maintain sustainable mountain biking trails. LAMBO will engage in positive public relations and promote the quiet, sustainable and healthy benefits of mountain biking. LAMBO will negotiate with land managers to build positive and productive relationships that increase opportunity for mountain biking in Northern Wisconsin. LAMBO will help identify trail maintenance and development needs in these areas and happily organize crews to develop, improve and protect mountain biking trails. LAMBO will help communities identify, create and promote riding opportunities in their area.

LAMBO believes that education, a solid planning based on facts and science, goodwill and the ability to share will best protect and preserve the public resources and the backcountry experiences for all users.
