Good to know

  • Everything is free to ride. No day pass. Memberships and donations are what pay for it. Join for $35 if you had a good day.
  • Check conditions first. The strip at the top of this page is the trail bosses' official word. After heavy rain or during freeze-thaw, give the dirt a day.
  • Cell service is patchy. Download the Trailforks map for each system before you leave town.
  • Winter is a season here, not a closure. The Zip is groomed for fat bikes. See the Zip page for the grooming report.
  • The paved trail connects it all. From Musky Mountain you can ride the Heart of Vilas County paved trail to Sayner, Boulder Junction and beyond.
